To most people, food and nutrition information is often confusing. One day eggs are unhealthy, and the next day they are a miracle food. The US Dietary Guidelines told us 35 years ago that all our health problems were derived from eating fat. Then, more than three decades later, they suddenly learned that fat wasn’t so bad for us.

All of this is enough to make you give up and just eat whatever you want, whenever you want, and in whatever quantities you want.

The truth is that old, unscientific-based beliefs on food and nutrition don’t go away easily, while new science is hard to reach the masses. Furthermore, the messages could be twisted by the profit-driven, trillion dollar food industry as they are passed to the consumers.

But, think about it. Everyday we eat. Food is inevitably a critical component to our health. On one hand, food provides us with the energy to power our day, with the nutrients to build and heal our body. On the other hand, food could be a burden to our body, bring in inflammation, harmful or even toxic substances to sabotage our body. Every bite you take is a powerful opportunity to create health or promote disease.

The good news is that science continues to refine and illuminate fundamental principles of good nutrition, and we know now more than ever what a good and healthy diet really looks like. As a food industry insider for 10 years, and subsequently a self-driven nutrition researcher for 5 years, I will help you answer the 3 fundamental questions based on the best and latest scientific researches on:

What to Eat?

When to Eat?

How Much to Eat?

What to Eat -  There is no one perfect diet. For generations, people living all over the world were eating drastically different diets, yet there were no obesity or chronic diseases pandemic. What really matters is  to eat real, whole or less processed food with high nutrient density. I will help you review and analyze your current diet (everything you put in your mouth, not just the 3 meals), identify top 3 opportunities to change based on your goal or health concerns.

Substitution ingredients or recipes will be suggested, so that you can still enjoy your normal diet.

When to Eat -  When to eat is probably just as important as what to eat. Our bodies run on a 24-hour clock — right down to our cells. This is known as our circadian rhythm. The two biggest cues you can give your body to tell it the time of day are light and food. In modern society, light and food are available around the clock. This can lead to circadian disruption, which is associated with obesity and chronic diseases. That's why eating to support your circadian rhythm is so critical.

Time restricted eating or intermittent fasting is a powerful tool for weight loss and health improvement. But it is a very personalized approach that you need to know how to do it right. I will help you work out an eating plan that help you seize the benefit of intermittent fasting, support your circadian rhythm, while suits your schedule for other daily activities

How Much to Eat - This question is often at the core of many other meal plans. But if you get the first two questions (what to eat and when to eat) right, your own body’s appetite and satiety control system will work properly, and this question can be taken care of by itself. You just need to know roughly for each different food categories what are the proper amounts to eat, instead of meticulously weighing every food you eat and calculate the calories.
